Professional Expertise
I am often asked to give guest lectures on good beekeeping practice and am widely known throughout the Czech beekeeping community as a top expert in bee management and queen bee breeding.
Education/Publications
I developed a fascination with beekeeping at the age of 15 and enrolled in a specialized beekeeping secondary school, where I have also taught courses. I obtained a diploma from the Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague. After the Velvet Revolution in 1989 I worked at the Bee Research Institute, and have published over 30 articles on Beekeeping.
Family Bee Farm founded in 1997
While working for the Bee Research Institute, I moved to work with bees in the rural mountainous Jesenik area of northern Moravia, where a separate department of the Bee Research Institute was set up. I then established my own Carniolan Bee farm in 1997, and have been raising bees and breeding Queen Bees ever since. The Cimala Bee Farm is now one of the top 3 producers of Queen Bees in the Czech Republic.
A Family Business
Together with my wife Lenka and our two daughters, our family-run Carnica-Cimala Bee Farm is now producing more than 1,600 Queen Bees for sale every year. We have also developed a number of innovative breeding and care techniques that will allow us to scale up Queen Bee production even further as demand continues to increase.
